Israeli nationals will soon be eligible for E-2 Treaty Investor Visa status. The
Israeli government announcement that the rules and procedures for the B-5 investor visa for US citizens will be released in March 2017 was the final step towards a reciprocal implementation of a bilateral agreement between the two countries.
The E-2 visa allows individuals and corporate interests who have the nationality of certain countries to invest in the US. The E-2 visa requires investing a substantial amount of capital in a US based enterprise and that the E-2 investor must be the majority owner. E-2 investors and their families may live and work in the United States. Employees with the same nationality as treaty investors and their dependents qualify for E status as well. Dependent spouses of E visa holders are authorized to work.
The US Embassy in Israel has not yet made an official announcement. The Embassy has announced that it will issue a press release as soon as they will accept E-2 visa applications.
