According to Wall Street Journal,  an analysis of census figures shows that immigrants arriving from China and India are now outpacing Mexican arrivals in most parts of the United States—a marked reversal from a decade ago. In 2014, the most recent year for which data are available, approximately 136,000 people arrived from India and 128,000 came from China. Only about 123,000 arrived from Mexico. Apparently this shift is due in part to an improved job market and declining birth rate in Mexico, as well as an increased number of highly educated workers coming to the United States from Asia to work in the technology sector.
